Jennifer dit hår brinner is a Swedish Faust cover, recorded by Freddie Wadling, and probably just as brilliant as the original.
Jennifer from Faust's fourth album is one of their most accessible tunes, even when it's still pretty haunting and disruptive. It's almost rock. One of Sweden's most fascinating musicians, Freddie Wadling, made a remarkable Swedish version of it for his 2009 album The Dark Flower.
Wadling emphasized the melodic parts of the original turning it into something that comes even one step closer to mainstream rock. But luckily, he kept the finale almost as dramatic as Faust's.
Freddie Wadling from Gothenburg has been musically active since the 1970s, solo but also with bands like The Leather Nun, Cortex and Blue For Two. He worked with Einstürzende Neubauten's Alexander Hacke and has been a regular contributor to the work of avant-garde band Fleshquartet.
While his works spans everything from punk to covering James Bond tunes, Wadling is best known for his often dark and menacing, experimental work which is never far removed from what would have been called krautrock in the 1970s.
